[EPIC-TEM]  Welcome Dr. Jinsong Wu !!!

Our largest facility, EPIC, added our first new position since inception in fall quarter 2002, appointing Jinsong Wu as research assistant professor

Jinsong Wu. Ph.D. came to us in June 2007 with international experience in microscopy. Jinsong received his Ph.D. from the Beijing Laboratory of Electron Microscopy, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the largest center for electron microscopy in China. He gained post-doctoral experience at the Ecole des Mines de Nancy in France and then at the Ernst Ruska Centre for Microscopy and Spectroscopy with Electrons in Germany where he used more advanced electron microscopes, including the first Phillips microscope equipped with a Cs-corrector. From there he went to University of Arizona's Cowley Center for High Resolution Electron Microscopy, which has 12 advanced electron microscopes, including FEI, JEOL, and LEO. There he collaborated as co-PI with Regents Professor John C. Spence on a Federal grant, "Protein Strucutre for Drugs. At the University of Georgia, Jinsong, in addition to his own research, worked directly with microscope users in a facility and taught students. Those who have worked with Jinsong praise his experimental work, together with sophisticated data analysis and simulation.
