On Tuesday May 22, Dr. Benjamin Myers, Director of Operations SHyNE Resource at NUANCE Center, hosted the first iNANO Spring Workshop at Northwestern University. It program was a collaboration with the University of Chicago and Argonne National Laboratory.. The event featured distinguished speakers from the Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern University coming together for a series of discussions on research and developments in the field of nanotechnology. The keynote speakers included Dr. Supratik Guha, Senior Scientific Advisor to the Director of the Argonne National Laboratory, Dr. Philippe Guyot-Sionnest, Professor of Chemistry at the University of Chicago, and Dr. Thomas J. Meade, Director of the Center for Advanced Molecular Imaging at Northwestern University. The keynote speakers were followed by a series of panel discussions that addressed topics ranging from potential opportunities for future research to new tools that could assist in such research.

Dr. Ben Myers, the Director of Operations of the SHyNE Resource, was pleased with how the event turned out and was excited for new opportunities that could come as a result of it.

“This first iNANO event was a great success in bringing together the users and staff of the nanotechnology research facilities at Northwestern, the University of Chicago, and Argonne National Lab,” he said. “I'm confident that the connections made will lead to future collaboration and cooperation to the benefit of all three institutions and the region.”
