Raman/AFM-Raman/TERS Workshop
The NUANCE Center hosted a Raman/AFM-Raman/TERS Workshop in collaboration with HORIBA Scientific and AIST-NT on Thursday, September 27.
Nine speakers—five Northwestern scientists and four representatives from HORIBA Scientific and AIST-NT— discussed the various applications of Raman imaging technology and AFM-Raman/TERS systems to a room filled to capacity.
Dr. Gajendra Shekhawat, Facility Manager of SPID, welcomes the workshop attendees.
Opening remarks by NUANCE Director Vinayak Dravid.
Professor Richard Van Duyne, "Nanoscale Chemical Imaging and Single Molecule Spectroscopy." ABSTRACT
Dr. Marc Chaigneau (HORIBA Scientific), "High‐speed Tip‐Enhanced Raman Imaging." ABSTRACT
Professor Mark Hersam, "Chemically Functionalized Two‐Dimensional Nanoelectronic Heterostructures." ABSTRACT
David Tuschel (HORIBA Scientific), "Raman Spectroscopy and Imaging of Low Energy Phonons in 2D Crystals." ABSTRACT
Dr. Andrey Krayev (AIST-NT), "TERS characterization of 2D materials from graphene to TMDCs." ABSTRACT
After lunch, a series of instrument demonstrations took place with the XploRA Nano System, a compact and affordable but powerful and fully automated TERS imaging system. The day concluded with a reception.
The event was Co-sponsored by the SHyNE Resource and NU-MRSCEC
