Here is an overview of the onboarding process, so you will know what to expect:

With the above information, NUANCE Center will create a Northwestern ID (NETID) for you, followed by an online safety training account. You will be able to log in there to take the 6 required safety training courses. Once those are complete, and we have your payment source in place, you will be able to schedule training/instrument time with the facility staff members. Overall, this process generally takes 1-2 weeks, but it is also dependent on how quickly things progress on both sides.

*Please note that this process takes about 1-2 weeks, so your ability to use the facilities will not be immediate.

Full-service users take these steps:

  1. Consult with EPIC, BioCryo, Keck-II, SPID technical staff – establish Scope of Work.
  2. Contact NUANCE Center to complete the administrative onboarding.

*Please note that this process mostly relies on your AP department’s submission of a PO.
